YCC Battle of the Sexes - 2008

The MEN were victorious again this year, now 2 years in a row! The teams were filled with some pretty impressive skips on the mens' teams: Ron Isnor, Kent Milford, Greg Langis, Dan Cleutinx, against some brand new skips, thanks to Kelly Shillington and Leeann Warner, as well as Kerry Isnor and Marilyn Vian, on the Ladies' teams. Results of the day's competitions, on and off the ice:

• The In-Lounge games' score was Guys 30 Gals 41
• The curling skills competition was Guys 48 Gals 44, each team member had a separate shot to make
• The curling 3 X 4 end games, was Guys 73 Gals 27
• The Corner to Corner diagonal comp was Guys 62 Gals 28
• The final totals were Guys: 213, Gals 140

Heather and Jeff Hill (pic 112) ran the 'In-Lounge' events, Kathy Brown set up the 'on-ice' schedule, and I ran the day's events.

We had a 'diagonal curling comp. from corner to corner which added interest and fun. It's not much longer than normal bump-back weight on a given sheet of ice - who would have thought it is only that distance? We had a good mix of games and curling throughout the day (so several curlers said).

Barb Balfour won the Lindt Chocolate Basket donated by Paul Dunnill.

Prizes for the Men included: Pot Pourri w/dishes to bring out their 'sensitive side' and a memo pad to  make notes and list how they could help the women do better next year!

The Ladies received: Revitalizing Shower Gel for Men to strengthen their bodies, along with some 'healing stones' and a notepad to write out how they could improve their points next year!

See you all next year! Maybe we'll have a 'generations battle in 2009!!!
